CALL FOR 2024 COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS

​The NAMSS Call for 2024 Committee Volunteers is closed. 

Volunteering to be appointed to a NAMSS committee is a leadership opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. If the time is right in your career, stand up and serve! Being an effective member of a NAMSS committee requires certain traits and skill sets: integrity, responsibility, respect, and a positive attitude. If you see these qualities in yourself and you have the passion to serve your peers, volunteer with NAMSS!  The application deadline is September 21, 2023. 

Below is a listing of current Committees; look for one that is of specific interest to you. Please review the Volunteer Leader Agreement and Conflict of Interest Policy prior to submitting your application. 

 

Committee members MUST be active NAMSS members, and cannot be subsequently serving as a NAMSS Instructor or a President/President-Elect of a State Association as of their term start date, 1/1/2024.

Audit & Finance Committee - The Audit & Finance Committee is responsible for the review and oversight of NAMSS financial reports, investments, and records to ensure the organization’s continued viability. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Certification Commission - The Certification Commission of NAMSS (CCN) is responsible for the development and implementation of a professional certification program, in support of the goals of the National Association of Medical Staff Services. The term commitment is three years, with a reappointment option of a second consecutive term.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force - The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force is responsible for establishing activities and educational opportunities to increase diversity and inclusion within the NAMSS membership. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Ethics Committee - The primary role of the Ethics Committee is to assist the NAMSS Board and CCN in maintaining the ethical standards of the association through education on, consultation about, and evaluation of the professional conduct of its members. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Membership Committee - The Membership Committee guides the member retention and recruitment strategies of NAMSS. Members are asked to call new members, send out birthday greetings, or participate on the mentoring sub-committee. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Professional Development Council (PDC) -  The Professional Development Council (PDC) was created to oversee and support NAMSS’ desire to grow our education portfolio, be more nimble in making changes and ensure better alignment of education initiatives with our strategic plan. This council oversees all educational activities inclusive of activities within education committees and subcommittees. The following committees and subcommittees are now taking applications.

Accreditation Subcommittee -  The Accreditation Subcommittee reviews CE applications submitted by vendors and state affiliates. They are also responsible for reviewing and updating the accreditation application process and policies. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Conference Committee - The Conference Committee is responsible for developing the education program (i.e. topics and speakers) at the NAMSS Educational Conference and Exhibition. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Education Committee - The Education Committee is responsible for providing educational opportunities for members on topics relevant to current job functions and future career enhancements. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Courses Subcommittee - The Courses Subcommittee oversees and monitors the effectiveness of virtual, online and in-person courses, and recommends new course content to the Education Committee. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Products/Resources Subcommittee -  The Products and Resources Subcommittee reviews, evaluates and updates products and resources in addition to recommending new resources to the Education Committee alongside the Courses Subcommittee. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) Subcommittee -  The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Subcommittee recruits and retains qualified SMEs for course development and course instructors, both in-person and virtual. The term commitment is one year (January 1-December 31), with a reappointment option of up to a total of three one-year terms.
