NAMSS Mock Interviews provide job seekers with an opportunity to practice for an interview and receive feedback on their interviewing skills and give hiring managers the opportunity to sharpen their interview skills as well. How It Works
- Review the NAMSS job descriptions below.
- Fill out the form below to sign up as an interviewer, interviewee, or both by September 9, 2022.
- Interviewers and interviewees will be paired based on their career levels. Each participant will receive an email with the contact information for their pair, job descriptions, and resources for the interview.
- After receiving the email pairing, participants will be responsible for determining the time and location of their mock interview. There will be space available at the annual conference in Nashville on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Following the mock interview, participants will fill out a survey to provide feedback on their interview experience.

Entry Level/Foundational
Supports departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating physician credentialing, privileging, and source verifications. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with, others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.
This individual is still developing their skills and learning on the job as a Medical Services Professional and gatekeeper of patient safety. They likely still need supervision when completing projects and continue to learn how to complete their job function.
Specialist/Coordinator
Manages departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating physician credentialing, privileging, and primary source verifications. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with, others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.
This individual has an understanding of the requirements of the job and needs little, if any, supervision. They can execute the tasks assigned to them and understand how their role connects to the bigger picture.
Management Level
Oversees departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating physician credentialing, privileging, and primary source verifications. Serves as the leading resource of the department, and collaborates with others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.
This individual is a program and project manager, ensuring that their work and the work of others is being completed. They may be managing a staff team and taking part in operational conversations as it relates to their areas of work and their department.
Executive Level
Provides executive oversight to departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating physician credentialing, privileging, and source verifications. Serves as the leader of the department and manages others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.
This individual is a leader within their organization and the medical services profession. They take part in strategic conversations with healthcare administration and are champions for their department and MSPs. The executive leader is a decision-maker and planning for the future.
