Medical Services Management (CPMSM) Certification Preparation Course

The NAMSS Medical Services Management (CPMSM) Certification Preparation Course is a two-day interactive workshop designed to help you assess your knowledge of the CPMSM exam content and identify areas in which additional study is necessary before you take the exam. This comprehensive workshop provides a high-level overview of the exam topics including accreditation and regulatory compliance; management of the credentialing processes; privileging; medical staff services administration; risk management; information management; and medical staff services operations, reviewed from the perspective of a variety of health care settings including hospitals, managed care organizations, ambulatory care settings and CVOs. Participants will work through a series of interactive activities including scenario-based exercises and case studies supplemented with in-class learning facilitated by experienced NAMSS instructors. A key focus of the course is your development of a personalized study plan for post-workshop study and preparation to take the examination. The course includes pre-workshop preparation materials which you will need to complete prior to class and access to comprehensive supplementary resources to help you prepare for the exam.

This workshop will present the foundation of credentialing combined with information on accreditation standards, as well as how and when to apply them. Leadership Certificate Program Live Course

The Leadership Certificate Program Live Course is designed for MSPs dedicated to the field to expand on their experiences and gain the skills, confidence, and industry understanding to be stronger leaders within the industry. As a continuation of the online portion of the program, the in-person course will focus on a variety of topics, including team leadership, negotiations, critical thinking, and communication skills. Participants are required to complete two of the eight online modules of this program in order to join the in-person course

Becoming Your Own Advocate

This comprehensive, interactive course is designed to help you increase your professional credibility and achieve your goals. Led by NAMSS instructors, this course outlines the skills MSPs need to better advocate for themselves, their staff, and the safety of the patients they serve. Participants will learn enhanced written and oral presentation skills, gain guidance on how to successfully articulate new ideas and proposals, and explore effective negotiation skills and strategies for building coalitions at work. Participants will also learn how to develop a department mission statement and work effectively with differing management styles.
