ABMS Board Certification and the ABMS Program for Maintenance of Certification (ABMS MOC®) are fundamental to the integrity of medical specialty care. MOC is recognized as an important quality marker by hospitals, quality and credentialing organizations, and insurers. In this one hour webinar, representatives from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) will provide an overview of Board Certification, MOC, Board Eligibility Policies, and review common data display scenarios for physician profiles.

Speaker Bios:

Susie Flynn is Director, Academic Affairs, within the Academic Programs and Services Division of ABMS. In this role she develops and supports the Boards Community in the implementation of the Standards for the ABMS Member Boards Program for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) through innovation and facilitation of lifelong learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, performance improvement initiatives, and other strategic collaborations that advance the Member Boards Programs for MOC.   

Prior to joining ABMS, Susie served as the Director of Education of the American Academy of Pain Medicine where she led the educational and quality improvement initiatives related to advancing the science and improving the practice of Pain Medicine across the healthcare continuum.

Jennifer Michael joined the ABMS in April 2011. She maintains overall accountability for information systems and technology, including leadership of I/T strategic planning, policies, and programs related to the credentialing and certification requirements. She also is responsible for ABMS’s Business Development Unit, overseeing data sales. Michael previously served as Director of Information Services (IS) Applications at The University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. Ms. Michael's professional experience also includes roles with The University of Chicago Medical Center and the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She received her Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
