Membership categories are defined as follows:
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
Members having responsibilities in medical and/or healthcare provider staff activities.
Active members shall pay dues and shall be eligible to vote and hold office.
Active members are encouraged to join the National Association Medical Staff Services.
AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
Members who are interested in the overall goals and objectives of the Association.
Associate members shall pay dues and are not eligible to vote or hold office.
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Enrolled as a full time student (minimum of 4 unites or 12 hours) in a health-related field.
Student members shall pay dues at a reduced rate and are not eligible to vote or hold office.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Have contributed to the advancement of the goals and objectives of the Association.
Honorary members do not pay dues and are not eligible to vote or hold office.

Just a reminder that OAMSS awards a scholarship annually to members who wish to obtain their certification or attend an annual OAMSS or NAMSS conference!
To qualify for the scholarship all applicants must be active OAMSS members of at least twelve (12) months with attendance to a least one (1) meeting, who are in good standing, and whose institution is unable/unwilling to sponsor attendance/certification. Specific eligibilty criteria and scholarship applications can be found by clicking on scholarship information or you can email our scholarship chair at OAMSS scholarship chair.
The items listed here are available to all OAMSS members on a first come, first served basis. Materials are available for 60 days unless arrangements with the Lending Librarian are made in advance. To borrow materials just complete the attached Lending Library Agreement and fax or mail it as indicated on the form. Available Books:

Medical Staff Coordinator (Hillsboro, Oregon)

Tuality Community Hospital is looking for a part-time Medical Staff Coordinator. You do not need to have previous hospital credentialing experience (health plan, or physician office experience is fine as well). We are willing to train the chosen candidate who applies for this position.
The Medical Staff Coordinator will assist in processing applications from practitioners for medical staff membership and privileges. The Medical Staff Coordinator helps to ensure initial appointments and reappointments met NCQA and TJC standards. In addition the Medical Staff Coordinator will help to interpret Medical Staff By-Laws, Rules and Regulations and medical staff policies. This position also includes various project work and taking meeting minutes.

JOB TITLE: Provider Services Credentialing Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
The Provider Services Coordinator (PSC) position is a non‐exempt position and reports to the Provider Services Manager. The primary responsibilities of the Provider Services Coordinator are recruiting, credentialing and recredentialing of providers and provider network management.
Recruiting Providers:
Responsible for recruiting providers in alignment with CHP’s strategic plan. The goal is to receive a complete application by providers for consideration of network membership. Contacts providers via several methods such as telephone, email, provider meetings and/or visits to provider offices. Maintains the Provider CRM database with current and accurate provider information.
Credentialing and Recredentialing:
Responsible for credentialing providers for inclusion in CHP’s network and recredentialing participating CHP providers. Assures provider qualifications and timely credentialing in compliance with NCQA standards, CHP policies, HIPAA, Federal and State regulations. Maintains credentialing and quality files of CHP providers in secure manner and in accordance with CHP policies and procedures. Supports the activities relating to the Credentialing Committee. Assists the Provider Services Manager with preparation for external credentialing audits, including internal audit implementation. Conducts monthly random site visits of provider offices to ensure compliance with CHP standards.
Contracting:
Obtains contract agreements from credentialed providers and updates both the credentialing and enterprise systems accurately and timely. Assembles and mails new provider notification packets in accordance with CHP policy. Generates provider network reports to external clients per the delegation agreement or as requested. Updates the CHP website in accordance with CHP policy.
Network Management:
Processes all activities related to provider management, to include but not limited to: relocations; “additional office and sale of practice” requests; suspensions, leave of absence; “closed office and Associate” requests; and terminations and resignations. Maintains the credentialing and enterprise systems with timely and accurate provider information. Responsible for the timely review of Provider Services workflows in the claims system.
