On Line Continuing Education "SO MANY PRIVILEGES, SO LITTLE TIME…” - Best Practices for Utilizing Temporary / Locum Tenens / Expedited Privileging and Credentialing
SPEAKER:
Christine “Cris” Mobley, CPMSM, CPCS
SESSION DESCRIPTION:
With the increase in negligent credentialing lawsuits as well as ”practitioner competency” being a focus of surveyor attention these days, how privileges are granted and how they're evaluated at reappointment are at the forefront of many hospital medical staff organizations' concerns – OR, they should be. This session will address the non-traditional routes to the routine initial application and privileging process and the fine balance between meeting the needs of the organization for qualified practitioners and facilitating a quality process.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
* Identify ways to define temporary privileges and still be compliant
* Develop an expedited privileging and credentialing procedure without compromising quality
* Discuss options for how best to cope with "this doctor needs privileges immediately"
* Define "important patient care need"
* Incorporate a “locum tenens” process that meets your needs and meets the standards
LENGTH:
