Seminars should be priced to cover your costs, i.e., room rental, food and beverage, faculty honorarium and faculty travel and lodging expenses.
Process for offering Professional Development Courses:
- Complete and submit the Course Request Form at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the course
- NAMSS Education staff members will confirm requested instructors or assign instructors within two weeks of receiving the course request form
- It is then your responsibility to contact the speakers and discuss honoraria, location, agenda timing, audiovisual needs, expense reimbursement and hotel accommodations. These items are to be negotiated solely by the state association. NAMSS is not responsible for or involved in the logistics of your state meeting in any way.
- If you wish to use an overhead projector rather than an LCD projector, please request an electronic of the PowerPoint presentation from NAMSS Education staff at least 3 weeks prior to the seminar in order to ensure ample time for you to convert them into overheads.
- Your association will be invoiced by NAMSS for the number of workbooks (students) you request (please request workbooks no later than 30 days out from the start date of your program). Refunds will not be issued for unused books.
- One CD with the entire course, including text and PowerPoint presentations, will be sent to the instructor(s). The instructor(s) will bring the CD to the course.
- The following items will be shipped to your conference location (or another specified address) at least 1 week prior to the beginning of the conference:
- Workbooks for each student
- Continuing Education Certificates for each attendee
- Student evaluation form
