Session Code: SA04
Total CE Credits: 7.0
Presented by Hugh Greeley and Todd Sagin, MD
There is increased focus on the need for cohesive relationships between hospitals and organized medical staffs in our hospital environment. Medical staffs are reaching a tipping point as more physicians opt for employment, avoid the hospital completely and provide ambulatory care while referring to hospital-based colleagues and seek to balance clinical practice with family or other interests.
On October 11, 2008, attend a workshop in Milwaukee called “Beyond the Traditional Medical Staff: Establishing Effective Hospital-Physician Relations,” presented by Hugh Greeley and Todd Sagin, MD, which is specifically designed to help medical staff leadership and governing boards proactively establish a structure that effectively manages conflict and solidifies a collaborative team approach to providing quality, safe patient care.
By attending this workshop, medical staff leadership and governing boards will be able to:
- Understand the factors that are reshaping the medical staff, its functioning and its leadership;
- Anticipate and facilitate logical changes in the manner in which physicians relate to and support the hospital and its mission;
- Avoid those actions which exacerbate disharmony within staff and unstable relations between the hospital and physicians; and,
- Create alternative bylaws provisions that will aid the staff as it continues to evolve.
Join us October 11, 2008, in Milwaukee and let us help you understand a range of strategies that can be adapted by hospitals as they strive to fulfill their patient care missions and competitive positions.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with NAMSS, the membership includes medical staff and credentialing services professionals from medical group practices, hospitals, managed care organizations, and CVOs. The Association is celebrating more than 30 years of enhancing the professional development of and recognition for professionals in the medical staff and credentialing services field. NAMSS’ vision is to advance a healthcare environment that maximizes the patient experience through the delivery of quality services.
We look forward to seeing you in October and to doing our part to maximize the patient experience in your hospital.
