National Association Medical Staff Services Awareness Week, November 2-8, 2008
In 1992, President George Bush signed Congressional House Joint Resolution #399 proclaiming the first week in November as National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week. Since then NAMSS, has partnered with hospitals, MCO's, doctor’s offices, university health systems, and government agencies to promote awareness of the Medical Staff Profession. Join with us as we again celebrate NAMSS week this November 2-8, 2008. NAMSS has put together a tool kit for National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week that includes: downloadable posters, press releases, newsletter articles, ideas on celebrating National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week, and a Fact Sheet to share with fellow colleagues.
National Association Medical Staff Services Awareness Week Photo Contest:
Gain visibility for your facility within the NAMSS community and highten awareness of MSPs at the same time! NAMSS is now accepting submissions for the 2008 National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week photo contest.
NAMSS is asking for your participation in capturing what you believe exhibits "celebrating medical staff and credentialing services professionals in the health care community." This is your opportunity to represent our profession to others in our facilities and within our communities. We want your photos to display on this years National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week posters, which will be mailed with Synergy and available for download online. Submission Deadline: Friday, June 13, 2008.
Here’s what you need to do in order to take part in the National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week Photo Contest:
- Collect your staff together in appropriate office attire for a digital photo. The photo must have 2 or more parties in the picture and at least one person in the photo must be a current NAMSS member.
- If you are the only MSP at your organization, then include at least one other person such as your VPMA, Medical Director, Department Chief/Chair, Credentialing Chairman, CEO, COO, etc in the photo. Of course the more, the merrier, so even if you have a department of several MSPs, you may include any of your medical staff members as well, if you like.
- Submit a digital photo in JPEG output format (high resolution, original size, 5X7 in or larger) and the following information to Laura Greer at lgreer@namss.org by Friday, June 13, 2008.

Contact Person’s name, telephone number and e-mail address
Names and titles of all individuals in photograph, noting any who are current NAMSS members.
Please Note: If selected, you will be required to complete a photo release form. To review the photo release form, click here.
The NAMSS Membership & Marketing Committee will vote and select 2 winning photos. Winning photos will be based upon photo clarity/quality and professional appearance of photo content. Remember, we want to convey a message of "celebrating medical staff and credentialing services professionals in the health care community." We are looking for the team that will best convey that message.
