How do I access the Session Handouts?
Session handouts are available to all paid attendees and are delivered via email, prior to the conference. Attendees may also access handouts via the NAMSS Conference Mobile App while on site. Finally, attendees will receive a USB drive containing all handouts inside the conference bags provided at registration.

How do I pay for my registration?
NAMSS accepts both credit card and check payments for conference registration. Credit card payments must be completed online during the registration process. Checks must be made payable to NAMSS and may be mailed to the following address, or brought on site to the registration desk:

NAMSS
8658 Solution Center
Chicago, IL 60677-8006

All attendees who opt to pay by check must complete the online registration form. The option to pay by check will be presented to you during checkout.

What if I chose to pay by check while processing my registration, but decide later to pay by credit card?
Registrants may pay their unpaid registration via credit card by logging into the NAMSS website and navigating to the “My Profile” page. The “My Profile” page is a menu item underneath the main “Membership” tab. All open invoices are listed on the registrant’s profile page. Registrants who need their login information may contact info@namss.org. Additionally, attendees may bring the credit card to the conference and pay onsite.

What if I need to cancel my registration?
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to registration@namss.org. Cancellations submitted in writing before/on October 6, 2017 will be eligible for a full refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee. Refunds will be processed within 6-8 weeks after the conference has concluded. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations made after the October 6th deadline. The cancellation policy can be found on the registration information page.

What is the attire for the Conference?
NAMSS suggests business casual, but there are no strict guidelines on attire. We ask that attendees present themselves in a professional manner. Additionally, meeting spaces may fluctuate greatly in temperature. We strongly suggest wearing layers for comfort. Colorado Springs will be “chilly” to “cold”, fluctuating from the low 60s to below freezing in some rare cases. If venturing outside, please be prepared for colder weather. We also suggest comfortable shoes.

How do I download the Mobile App?
The conference Mobile App is available to all attendees. To download, find the app in the Google Play Store (Android devices) or Apple Store (Apple devices). More information on how to download the Mobile App will be available later this summer/early fall. A WiFi connection is recommended during download and use of the mobile app. WiFi will be available at the hotel.

How do I obtain NAMSS CEs for the Conference?
NAMSS CEs are self-reported by each attendee. All attendees will receive a three-page carbon copy of a CE self-tracking form inside their conference bags. Conference bags can be obtained onsite at the registration desk. Attendees are required to submit the pink sheet of the completed form at the registration desk prior to their departure. The white and yellow copies should be retained for personal records.

How do I register/check-in onsite?
Upon arrival at the Broadmoor, attendees who have pre-registered online through the NAMSS website must plan to visit the Conference Registration Desk  during the posted registration hours (below). To obtain a conference badge, simply step up to a badge-printing kiosk (computer) and enter the requested information, confirm that your information is correct and click print. Staff will be onsite to assist you. Additionally, attendees may obtain their conference bags, badge holders, and ribbons in the registration area. Attendees needing additional assistance, or those registering/paying onsite, may approach staff at the Registration Desk.

What do these icons on my badge mean?

Attendees who have pre-registered for one or more of the following “ticketed” events will see corresponding icons printed on their badge:

  • Becoming a Volunteer: An Introduction to Volunteering with NAMSS
  • Certificants Reception
  • Roundtable Networking Breakfast

Additional information on each event can be found on the Special Events page of the website.

What do I need to pre-register for? What can I attend without registering?
Attendees are required to pre-register for all Pre-Conference workshops and any ticketed special events

Full-Conference Registration includes access to all keynote presentations, breakout sessions, Exhibit Hall Opening Reception and Wild West Reception. Pre-registering for these events is strongly suggested.

Pre-registering for breakout sessions does not secure a seat in the session. Attendees may choose to attend any breakout session available, space permitting (see below).

How do I add/change the sessions I want to attend on my registration?
Attendees who wish to add sessions on their registration may log into the NAMSS website and go to the My Profile page (under the “Membership” tab). On the My Profile page, click the “My Events” link at the bottom of the profile. Then find the section titled “List of Your Sessions” and click the “Add Session” button.

Attendees who need to delete sessions from their event registration must contact the NAMSS Executive Office at (202) 367-1196 or by emailing registration@namss.org

However, please note that attendees are not required to pre-register for specific breakout or keynote sessions prior to the Conference. Sessions that require pre-registration are limited to pre-conference workshops and ticketed events (see above).

What do I do if a session I want to attend is “full”/there are no seats left?
Breakout sessions are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. If no seats are left in a session you want to attend, there may be standing room available. However, The Broadmoor and NAMSS staff reserve the right to “close” a session room if it reaches capacity as deemed by the local Fire Marshall. Please let NAMSS Staff know if a particular session is full when you attend.

My family is travelling with me – Is there an age limit on attendees/guests at the conference?

Due to the professional nature of the NAMSS Conference & Exhibition, as well as the availability of alcoholic beverages in several of the networking events, all attendees and guests must be at least 21 years old to attend any Conference sessions and/or events. Please visit The Broadmoor’s website to find activities suitable for children/those under 21. Guest tickets are available for purchase through the registration link for the following events: Opening Reception on Sunday night, Wild West Reception on Monday night, and Business Breakfast and Keynote on Tuesday morning.

What is the Ribbon Board? What Ribbons can I take for my badge?
NAMSS provides a Ribbon Board with various ribbons that attendees can affix to the bottom of their badge. These ribbons are meant to allow attendees to showcase their certifications and/or involvement in NAMSS or their State Affiliates. When taking badges, please maintain a high level of ethical standards when selecting which ribbons to affix to your badge. If you have any questions about what the badges mean, please ask a NAMSS Staff person at the Registration Desk.

Coming Soon! NAMSS has partnered with local merchants to offer discounts. Discounts will be posted here soon.

I’ve heard I should be doing something differently since Colorado Springs is at a higher altitude than where I live. What should I be doing?
Make sure to moisturize more often as your skin and lips will dry out quickly. You might become short of breath more easily from the “thin air,” so take it slower than usual. Most importantly; drink lots of water.

What do I do in case of an emergency while onsite at the conference?
In case of injury or illness, please alert a hotel or NAMSS staff member and call 911. In case of evacuation, please see the evacuation notes on the back of your hotel room door or, if you are in a meeting room, exit the building and come to the courtyard in front of Broadmoor Hall.

I have special meal/transportation/accommodations needed, where should I report that?

It is NAMSS' goal to ensure that everyone is included in the conference and can experience it to its fullest. To ensure that we can accommodate you, please include any requests for accommodations in your registration notes when registering online for the conference.
