As a part of NAMSS' ongoing commitment to supporting the Medical Services Professional (MSP) community, we are seeking your input on an important initiative.
NAMSS has engaged FMP Consulting to review and update the MSP competency model, originally developed in 2019 and published in the Tomorrow's MSP Report. This update reflects the evolving medical services industry and the expanding roles and responsibilities of MSPs. As a reminder, the competency model defines the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to be successful in the MSP profession today and in the future.
To inform this update, FMP conducted a comprehensive review of industry data, including job task analyses, benchmarking insights, industry trends, and the 2019 model, along with input gathered from NAMSS member focus groups. Based on this work, the model has been refined to better align with today's MSP role.
As the next step, we invite you to review the updated model by completing a brief validation survey. When completing the survey, please consider the MSP profession broadly, rather than a specific role or specialty. Your feedback is essential to ensure the model accurately reflects MSP responsibilities across roles, settings, and career stages. Please note that responses will be reported in aggregate and will not be linked to individuals.
The survey will collect basic demographic information (e.g. tenure, certifications, and work setting), ask you to evaluate how essential each aspect of the model is, along with the level of proficiency required to complete the task or skill, and gather your input on potential NAMSS educational offerings to support professional development.
You will receive one CE for completing the survey and be entered into a drawing for $100 Visa gift card.
Please complete the survey by Monday, June 22.
If you have any questions, please contact NAMSS Operations Manager Quineesa Smith at qsmith@namss.org.
Thank you in advance for your time and valuable input.
