This two-day interactive program is designed to help you assess your knowledge of the CPCS exam content and identify areas in which additional study is necessary before you take the exam. This comprehensive workshop provides a high-level overview of the exam topics including credentialing and privileging; primary source verification; compliance with standards; and medical staff services operations reviewed from the perspective of a variety of health care settings including hospitals, managed care organizations, ambulatory care settings and CVOs. Participants will work through a series of interactive activities including scenario-based exercises and case studies supplemented with in-class.
Note: The NAMSS Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification Preparation Course is a learning tool, and does not guarantee success on the certification exam. The CCN does not develop, administer, sponsor, endorse, or financially benefit from any type of exam review, preparatory course or published materials related to the content of the certification examinations.
Note: Although the CPCS Certification Preparation course reviews much of the information addressed in the test, it is not designed to teach basic concepts or skills, and it does not include specific information about the test content beyond what is included the content outline.

Welcome to the Missouri Association Medical Staff Services (MoAMSS) website. MoAMSS is an Affiliate of the National Association of Medical Staff Services, a national professional organization for credentialing and medical staff services professionals. MoAMSS was established in 1990 and currently has over 125 members representing hospitals, managed care, credentials verification organizations, physician/hospital organizations and other healthcare entities.
The objectives of MoAMSS are to provide the opportunity for continuing education and to promote the improvement of professional knowledge and skill by uniting persons who are engaged in medical and/or health care staff activities throughout the state. Participation in MoAMSS provides a unique opportunity to learn and grow as a credentialing professional. MoAMSS provides various networking and educational opportunities several times each year. You must be a person having responsibility in medical and/or health care provider staff activities and is interested in the overall aims and objectives of this organization.
The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to MoAMSS members for the purpose of furthering professional growth and enhancing knowledge and competence in the medical staff services/credentialing field.
Scholarship(s) may be awarded to MoAMSS members who meet the defined criteria and are found to be of merit and selected by the MoAMSS Board. Awarded scholarship(s) will fund the education opportunity up to a maximum of $500. If accrued funds allow, more than one scholarship may be awarded per year, if recommended and approved by the MoAMSS Board. Only one application per member will be accepted in a calendar year. Awarded scholarships will be announced at the annual meeting and through e-mail communications.

Applicants must submit a completed application on the current/official MoAMSS form. A 300 word, typewritten personal statement about past, present or planned contributions to the medical staff services/credentialing profession, with a brief review of how the participation in the planned educational activity will be of benefit to the applicant, both professionally and personally, must be included with the application. Completed applications must be submitted by October 1st for consideration of educational activities held during the following year. Completed applications are to be mailed to the MoAMSS Immediate Past President. IMPORTANT – please mark the outside of the envelope with “MoAMSS Scholarship Application”

The applications will be opened and blinded by an individual not associated with credentialing or MoAMSS. Blinded copies of the applications and personal statements will be forwarded to the MoAMSS Board for review to select the scholarship recipient(s) prior to the annual meeting in November.
Certification Information: National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS)
Certification sets a standard that reflects that the medical staff services professional has the knowledge necessary to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of the institution where they are employed and its medical staff members, as well as meeting the requirements of the institution’s and/or medical staff’s bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and other applicable regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Certification also provide for professional growth and personal satisfaction. NAMSS offers two certification opportunities:
