The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid routinely publishes changes to its regulations for acute care hospitals and critical access hospitals. This program will discuss recent changes and will also discuss what CMS expects to see when surveying a hospital for compliance with credentialing and privileging of physicians and other practitioners.

- Discuss CMS regulations for the medical staff
- Using tools provided, create a credentialing and privileging process that complies with CMS regulations
- Determine which non-physician practitioners should be granted privileges through the medical staff process and which should be handled through the Human Resources Department
